E-911 Communications Center -
Where Help Begins
Polk
County E911 operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This
center consists of four 12 hour shifts that operate 7am-7pm or
7pm-7am. Fully staffed, the E911 Center consists of a Shift
Supervisor and 3 Communication Officers per shift, a 911 Director
and a 911 Assistant Director. The E911 Division handles
communications for all law enforcement agencies within the county,
city and county fire departments, and emergency medical
services. They are:

The Center also handles
forestry calls, ema calls, animal control calls and numerous other
miscellaneous type calls.
Qualifications for position in
the E911 Division:
- High School Diploma or
GED
- 18 years of age
- Valid Driver's
License
- Criminal History
- Driver's History
- Background
Investigation
- Pre-employment Drug
