Weather Warning

Polk County Residents can be notified within minutes of a National Weather Service warning, issued for the following local weather events:

• Severe thunderstorms
• Flash floods
• Tornados

To receive these notifications, however, you must take a few moments to register an account on the Code Red website (clicking on the link or the Weather Warning icon will open up a new web browser window).

Polk County Residents are allowed to register one primary phone number, and one alternate phone number per person.  Accommodations for the hearing impaired (TDD/TTY) can also be made during registration.

All pending registrations will be reviewed to confirm that you are a resident of Polk County before your new account can be approved.  Please do not call 911 with questions related to Code Red, or register for this weather warning system.
